The Material Modeling Days

Modern day, light-weight composite materials have found their way into various industrial applications since the latter half of 20th century. Industries like automobile, aerospace, defense systems, infrastructure, wind energy are among many which are using composite materials on a daily basis. The underlying theme of this 2-day workshop is to understand the challenges faced by composite designers in virtual product development and the available FEA-based solutions to tackle them.

Summary

MMD was the perfect meeting place for simulation-based composite professionals from leading companies from the Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial Electronics, Wind Energy, Services Industry, Academic and Material Suppliers. The 2-day multi-session conference had presentations on the latest solutions for modeling composite structures. The conference was well attended by over 50 delegates from the country. Industry speakers from Aeronautical Development Establishment (DRDO) and GE India Technology Center presented their experiences in composite product development.

A series of technical presentations and live demonstrations were provided to the delegates on the latest from simulation-based modeling of composite materials such as layered composites, engineering plastics, rubber, hard metals, ceramics, nanocomposites. The delegates had the opportunity to learn from the key experts from CADFEM, ANSYS and e-Xstream engineering about the effective material modeling of composites and applications from respective industries.
