Seminar on Robust Design - A success
An open-to-all event, that was held on April 7, 2010 in Pune, was well-attended by engineers and managers from the industry.
Scope
Naturally occurring scatter or variation in the design parameters can result in unwanted scatter in the response parameters. This can lead to failure or push critical response parameters beyond permissible limits, thereby affecting the product performance. To avoid such issues, the designs have to be checked for robustness. The underlying theme of the one-day seminar was to understand and avoid such non-permissible scatter in response parameters, and how robustness analysis can be implemented in virtual product development.
Seminar Highlights
- State of the Art in Robustness Evaluation in the European industry by Dr. Johannes Will, one of the Principal Industry Consultants for Robust Design since 2003.
- The Cutting-Edge Software Solution, optiSLang, will be used to showcase how a CAE user can perform a Robustness Analysis.
- Invited talk by ANSYS India showcasing how ANSYS products can be used for design exploration and optimization.
- An interactive Q&A session wherein the participants posed questions to the experts.
