ANSYS 17.2

Today, ANSYS announced the availability of its industry-leading engineering simulation solution, ANSYS 17.2. This third and final release of the 17.x series builds upon a number of key technologies to make your Simulation-Driven Product Development faster, easier and more successful. ANSYS 17.2 includes all ANSYS products; a few release highlights are noted below.

Enhanced Workflow for Antenna Design and Large 3-D Field Simulations

ANSYS 17.2 advances the state of the art for antenna design and antenna placement, including a streamlined interface between ANSYS HFSS and ANSYS HFSS SBR+ (formerly Savant). This interface accelerates the workflow: antenna designs created in HFSS are easily imported into the HFSS SBR+ advanced shooting and bouncing ray solver to validate antenna design and placement.

Thermal Analysis for Upfront Electric Machine and Electromechanical Design

The ANSYS Maxwell/ANSYS Icepak interface now enables electrical machine designers to evaluate cooling strategies faster. The ANSYS RMxprt electrical machine synthesis tool can now output the geometry and temperature characteristics of materials used in the design, eliminating the need to manually add temperatures before running Icepak.

Fast, Accurate ANSYS Combustion Modeling Now Compatible with GT-SUITE 2016

ANSYS Chemkin-Pro, the gold standard for simulating complex chemical reactions for combustion systems, now adds plug-in compatibility with Gamma Technologies’ GT-SUITE 2016. Through Chemkin-Pro, GT-SUITE users gain access to detailed, validated reaction mechanisms in the ANSYS Model Fuel Library. They will be able to use this library as an alternative to the standard GT-SUITE models, when optimizing their internal combustion engines for fuel effects, efficiency, knocking and emissions. Model-Based Software Development for Mission- and Safety-Critical Applications

ANSYS Model-Based Software Development technologies have kept in step with increasing demands and certification standards for mission- and safety-critical applications in the automotive, railway, aerospace and energy industries. ANSYS 17.2 includes a complete workflow, encompassing software requirements, software design, code generation, software testing and verification. It now supports Ada certified code generation (in addition to C code) to meet DO-178C, IEC 61508, EN 50128 and ISO 26262 requirements.

Also available with ANSYS 17.2 is a new SCADE Test Environment capability to automate the testing of embedded displays, enhanced support of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing with National Instruments Veristand, AUTOSAR system design import capabilities, and improved links with requirements management tools IBM DOORS and Dassault Systèmes Reqtify (Reqtify is trademark or registered trademark of Dassault Systèmes or its subsidiaries, in the US and/or other countries).

ANSYS AIM Extended for Upfront Thermal Management and Improved Collaboration

Upfront simulation improves the productivity of design engineers by allowing them to make informed decisions early in the product’s lifecycle, minimizing the need for rework and redesign later in the process. ANSYS AIM enables upfront simulation for every engineer by providing easy-to-use, intuitive, guided workflows, along with accurate simulation results and customization, in a complete simulation tool covering a broad range of physics. The latest release, ANSYS AIM 17.2, enhances upfront simulation for thermal management, enables easier collaboration between the designer and the analyst, and lets Japanese engineers perform upfront simulation in their own language.
